Discover 3 Effective Copywriting Tips to Help You Succeed
Welcome back!
Marketing on the web encompasses far too many areas for any one person to effectively learn and become an expert. But even lots of visitors to your website won’t do any good if your sales copy doesn’t convert. One of the secrets to copy that converts is knowing your market, knowing what they want, and then simply offering it to them. A lot of people don’t understand that writing is not the same as copywriting, and the latter takes skill and education. When you write copy, you are talking to the reader’s conscious and unconscious mind – among other things. We’ll just mention a few important and basic aspects of copywriting that will hopefully spark your interest to learn more.
To write compelling copy, you need to talk to your customer about the product’s benefits as if you’re sitting down together. Your product will seem even more attractive to prospects if you can tell them how there is external support for your product, which proves its value. To put it another way, testimonials are great for supporting your product. You can write a great sales copy but if no one’s really agreeing with you, your potential customer will have second thoughts. Getting testimonials is simple; all you need to do is ask for them to your customers and other experts in your field. Never make your testimonials too large. Six or seven sentences is the longest you’ll want to make it, as long as the customer explains how he or she benefitted from the product. Giving the experts some copies of what you’re offering can be a great way to get an honest review from them. Each of your testimonials should include various dimensions of your product. Audible testimonials are even more convincing to a prospect.
Taking the risk off from the shoulder of your potential customer will increase the chances of getting sales. If you can convey to your customer that they can get a refund any time, you will have done this effectively. Lots of people don’t like money back guarantees because they’re afraid of being scammed. However, people will buy more as long as they know they can get their money back any time. There are always going to be those bad eggs out there who try to ruin it for everyone else by scamming the system, but you’ll be able to brush these people off. You must ensure your return policy is an easy one. One small trick you can use is to make your return policy time a long one, as people generally won’t use it.
Don’t keep your copy dry, try using a bit of humor to spice it up. It is about the fine line between being in business and being funny that will make your prospects feel comfortable with you. No one enjoys perusing dry copy that makes them bored. Copywriting can be an art form in some respects, and it requires dedication to learn how to do it well. Learn the copywriting fundamentals and basics, just knowing those will put you ahead of many people. Remember, having a strong foundation will allow you to build a lasting career.
