You must also learn the skills yourself first. Most of the time, you will only be able to outsource properly if you learn how to run the process well in the first place. If you do not know how to use the correct anchor text, how can you tell your ‘SEO guy’ to give you the right back links? You must be very clear how the process is done before you can tell others how it can be done.

Finally, you must always take care of your hired help. These people are your lifelines because you will want them to take care of your businesses. If you treat them well, they will follow you for life but if you cross them, they will go to your competitors instead.
